Mayor Albright and all council members present except Barry Warren.

The council approved the following:

1. Regular council meeting minutes 6/19/07

2. Work session minutes 6/26/07

3. Lease to "Positive Steps Daycare Center" (Res 2007-19) of the old Head Start building 19th Street at 13th Ave, contingent upon a legal opinion about the necessity of advertising the lease availability being published.

4. Long term lease of one of the conference rooms downstairs in the old HES building on 14th Avenue to Haleyville Health Care Center.

5. Hired new police secretary Connie Ann Handley, effective July 5.

6. Jerry Jackson, city attorney, reported the city could not take legal action against Norfolk-Southern Railroad over the closed bridge on Alabama Avenue. The railroad company did not have any objections to replacing the bridge with a regular crossing. This work will have to be done by the city. Presently, the only access to Alabama Avenue is off Highway 13 north of the railroad underpass.
